Life in Pictures – two-minute film competition

Event Date:
Monday, May 15, 2017 - 9:00am to Wednesday, May 31, 2017 - 8:00am

Life in Pictures is a competition that invites WA people to put together a 2-minute film to challenge stereotypes of ageing. It aims to encourage people to reflect on how we view elders and to stimulate discussion about positive ageing. The initiative is a creative collaboration between the Department of Local Government and Communities (DLGC), Revelation Perth International Film Festival and Screenwest, with endorsement from the World Health Organisation and International Federation on Ageing. There is quite a substantial prize pool, and winning films will also be screened as part of the Revelation Perth International Film Festival in July this year.  Using mobile phones or Ipads are fine – so c’mon – capture your favourite LGBTI elders in a 2 minute video!

This is a great opportunity to raise awareness of LGBTI achievements and perspectives and celebrate the rewards of aging.

Free workshops

The Life in Pictures competition is also offering a free 3-hour film making workshop in collaboration with the Film & Television Institute. Beginners of any age are welcome, so go along to learn basic film making techniques in a fun and collaborative environment.
